The lecture "The multiple uses of GNSS and GNSS INCT NavAer" will be given by Professor João Francisco Galera Monico, Titular Professor of the Department of Cartography of the Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP) Presidente Prudente. On the occasion will address the concept of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and its multiple uses feasible to be explored, going beyond the conventional applications. Among the unconventional applications will be presented GNSS Meteorology, GNSS for studies of the ionosphere, among others. Additionally the project approved will be highlighted within the INCT-called MCTI, called GNSS Technology in Support to Air Navigation (GNSS NavAer), including its objectives and outcomes.
Professor Galera graduated in Cartographic Engineering from Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio de Mesquita Filho (1982), Master's degree in Geodetic Sciences by Universidade Federal do Paraná (1988) and PhD in Engineering Surveying and Space Geodesy by IESSG Univeristy of Nottinhgam (1995). It has experience in Geosciences, with emphasis on Geodesy, particularly in geodesy Celeste, GNSS for Geodesy and Monitoring the Atmosphere.
